Common migratory bird census!

Grey Plover at Mosteiros, São Miguel (Photo 2008-12-04: Staffan Rodebrand).

Carolina Ferraz, a master degree student at University of the Azores is developing a thesis about the identification and characterization of suitable habitats for the most common migratory birds in the Azores -- ducks (Anatidae), herons (Ardeidae), moorhens and coots (Rallidae) and waders (Charadriiformes) -- with the aim of proposing conservation measures.
It would be very important to this project if you could send your observations of these common migratory birds from September 2011 to September of 2012 (1 year), mentioning date, species, place and island where you saw them, number of individuals and the name of the observer.
Please send all your observations directly to Carolina Ferraz or to Birding Azores and we will be forwarding them. Thank you!
