Lagoa das Furnas. Even if most ducks rest in the northern or central park of the lake, a check from the south side could also be rewarding.

Lagoa das Furnas from the north. Most birds are seen in the northernmost part of the lake, but some flocks of ducks are often found far out on the middle of the lake or along the less disturbed western shore. A walk around the lake are often rewarded with sightings of waders that are difficult to see from the road on the eastern side.
